Rita Nehmé practices mainly in family law from Dunton Rainville’s Joliette office.
A law graduate from Université de Montréal, Ms. Nehmé also holds a minor in psychology and criminology. Social and community involvement has always been a priority for her. During her university studies, she was involved in Projet Seur, a project designed to raise awareness of family law among high school students. As a lawyer, she continues to be involved in her community, notably as a member of the Board of Directors of Maison Caracol, a social pediatric center.
Prior to joining Dunton Rainville, Ms. Nehmé articled with legal aid, where she worked primarily in mental health law, as well as family and housing law. During this time, she appeared almost daily before the Court of Québec and the Superior Court. She then joined a family law firm in the Laval area. This gave her the opportunity to acquire extensive experience in representing clients before the courts, both in the public and private sectors, and to demonstrate both versatility and rigor.
Ms. Nehmé advocates a collaborative approach and puts forward alternative methods of settlement. She is convinced that every situation is unique, and that knowledge is power. She therefore places great importance on the bond of trust she builds with her clients and ensures that the information she passes on to them is as clear as possible and, above all, in the best interest of their situation and its particularities. When necessary, she does not hesitate to take a case to court, where she can convincingly assert her clients’ best interests.
