Each year, SCG Legal recognizes individuals and law firms who have made an outstanding contribution to the network with the “Above and Beyond” Award. This year, the award went to Dunton Rainville, the network’s exclusive member for Québec, as well as to Irish law firm Cliodhna Beauchamps, at the grand closing ceremony of SCG Legal’s annual global meeting, held at Sony Studios in Los Angeles on September 20.

Dunton Rainville was recognized for the excellence of the SCG Legal Annual Meeting of Canadian members, held in Montréal on June 13 and 14. The meeting provided an opportunity for member firms to come together to exchange best legal practices across Canada, and to promote collaboration within SCG Legal. Organized by Aaron Makovka and Marie-Claude Jarry, lawyers at Dunton Rainville and the firm’s liaisons to SCG Legal, the annual Team Canada meeting brought together delegations from large firms from across the country for a series of conferences, workshops and networking events.
The “Above and Beyond” award was presented on stage to Mr. Makovka by Paul Plunkett, Chairman of the Board of SCG Legal.
