Dunton Rainville introduces a brand-new section designed to introduce its team members in a simple, informal way. Me David Couturier, a lawyer in our Joliette office, has accepted our invitation to get the ball rolling!
Mr. Couturier, when did you join Dunton Rainville?
I joined the Dunton Rainville team in February 2010. I had a trial in which I represented a party against two Dunton Rainville associates. At the end of the file, one of these associates strongly suggested that I send my résumé to Dunton Rainville, which I did. I’ve been happy to work with this great team ever since!
What made you decide to take the plunge with us?
I’ve always held the firm in high esteem. When I was invited to apply, I immediately jumped at the chance to be part of a great multidisciplinary team that shares my values of respect, professionalism and teamwork (to name but a few).
What area of law do you specialize in?
In my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work in several areas of law, which has enabled me to specialize in litigation. I specialize in civil litigation and have had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of cases in various sectors.
The world of law is demanding. What stimulates you most on a daily basis?
I love the opportunity to challenge myself and my skills. I also have the privilege of working with a very good, dynamic, respectful and professional team, which motivates me on a daily basis.
Team spirit, mutual aid and collaboration are omnipresent in my work environment. What’s more, Dunton Rainville is very involved at the local level, which allows me to meet great people from my region and to contribute to the social and economic development of Lanaudière, and Joliette in particular.
What do you do to recharge your batteries?
I’m the father of two children and married to an extraordinary woman, which allows me to unwind after a day’s work and spend time with my family. I also try to take the occasional vacation. I have a lot of passions, like cinema and sport, which allow me to take my mind off things.
On the other hand, I find it very hard not to think about my customers and my cases!
